Summer Show 2025 Review

Once again members of the Gardening Club had carefully tended fruit, vegetables and flowers – and proved their baking and preserving skills – by exhibiting items in the Club’s Summer Show at The Margaret Harker Hall on Saturday, 12th July, 2025. The spring and early summer had proved tricky weather-wise and the committee had concerns that the number of entries would be reduced this year. However members were able to exhibit an amazing array of produce, judged on their merits by two judges, one from the Norfolk & Norwich Horticultural Society.

When the doors opened at 2 pm visitors examined the exhibits, enjoyed refreshments, bought plants and tried their luck at the tombola and raffle. All agreed that the sensory garden put together by the children of the Blofield Forestry School was very well designed and clever. Well done to them. Towards the end of the afternoon, winners of the various cups were congratulated and many people stayed on to see what they had won in the raffle, and for the traditional auction of produce. The proceeds of this event help ensure that the Gardening Club will be able to continue to pay speakers and hall hire next year.
